After the 31-year-old main attacker was appointed as the captain, his leadership skills have been greatly improved, and he has made outstanding contributions to the team both on and off the court.
Palin first represented a Canadian male squad in 2009, when he was a student at Thompson Rivers University. In the team's more than ten years, Palin has participated in almost all the most memorable achievements.
The biggest highlight that Palin and his Canadian teammates have achieved in the past ten years is of course their fifth place in the Rio Olympics. In the group stage they had beaten the final silver medalist-the Italian men's volleyball and bronze medalist-the US men's volleyball team. Palin scored a total of 56 points and was the third scorer in the team.
In the second year, Palin was promoted to the captain of the team. He led the team to their first FIVB World Men's Volleyball League medal-winning a precious bronze medal in Curitiba, Brazil. Palin scored 13 points in the bronze medal battle with the US Men's Volleyball Team to help the team beat the opponent 3-1.
Palin said at the time:
"I am very grateful to everyone who has helped the team in this process, because there are many players who have contributed a lot to this team."
"Hopefully this will help them achieve great achievements in the future. Every year we have achieved new achievements-we were in Rio de Janeiro in the last Olympic Games. Four years ago, we ranked fifth in the World Men's Volleyball League. I am looking forward to seeing it. How far can we go."
Palin has also been very successful in his club career in six different countries. His first stop after leaving Canada was Turkey, where he spent four seasons with the Akas club, won two league titles, and also reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.
In 2015, Palin moved to the Piacenza Club in Italy. Twelve months later, he came to Poland again, where he finished fourth in the league together with the Asecco club. In his only Chinese season, Palin helped Beijing Automobile Club win the league runner-up.
Palin spent the 2018-2019 season at Belogri Club in Russia and helped the team win the Challenger Cup. After that, he traveled across the oceans to Brazil, and in just one year of fighting alongside the Cruzeiro club, they gained a lot. Not only won the South American Club Cup and Brazil Cup, but also won the silver medal in the FIVB Men's Volleyball World Club Cup.
Last May, the Canadian returned to the Russian League. This time he played for Ural Ufa Club.
"I am very happy to be here. After spending a season in Russia before, I am very happy to be back in the league. This is a top-level league and it will be an exciting and challenging season. The team is ambitious Striving to achieve new goals, I look forward to becoming a part of it."
